Moffat County Assessor Suzanne Brinks said she expects Moffat County will see the current recession's impact on the energy industry next year, when it values the industry's local property and production in 2009.
Out near Fortification Rocks, a compressor station pumps natural gas into a network of pipelines. Preliminary reports from the Moffat County Assessor's Office show the local natural gas industry boomed in 2008, to the tune of about $55 million in assessed value of land, equipment and production.
