Routt County and Grand County sheriff's office deputies and Colorado State Patrol troopers search a vehicle driven by Craig resident Glen Alan Shaffer. Routt County Sheriff's Office Investigator Ken Klinger said Shaffer had multiple arrest warrants out of Routt and Moffat counties and was in possession of 10 firearms when arrested.

Shaffer led officers on a high-speed chase that started at Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue in Steamboat Springs and ended more than 30 miles away in Grand County. Routt County Sheriff's Office Investigator Ken Klinger, who was at the scene in Grand County, said law enforcement officers pursued the truck over Rabbit Ears Pass and into Grand County before it was finally stopped and Shaffer was arrested. Klinger said the man had multiple arrest warrants out of Routt and Moffat counties for domestic violence and was in possession of multiple, loaded firearms at the time of his arrest.

The Craig Physical Therapy team defeated the Peroulis Brothers team in the 8- to 10-year-old Little League division of Craig Parks and Recreation baseball. The team went undefeated for the year.

Moffat County Commissioner Audrey Danner sits among stacks of papers and booklets in her basement office at the Moffat County Courthouse. She said she savors phone calls and e-mails from local residents because that's how she knows what is on the minds of her constituents. The Moffat County Republican Central Committee appointed Danner on Dec. 7, 2008, to fill the seat vacated by the late Saed Tayyara. She was first sworn in Dec. 11 and has been in office almost seven months.
