Betty Leipold stands in the historical kitchen display at the Tread of Pioneers Museum where she volunteers one day a week. Many community programs depend on older volunteers who, in turn, reap many rewards from their work.
The winners of each Moffat County Little Britches Rodeo division and competition were awarded custom saddles. When the saddle presentation was over, the first-time winners were given a traditional dunk in a trough.
Craig and Sue Kozak, of Fort Collins, right, talk with Ray Beck after they flew in Saturday to the Craig/Moffat County Airport for its Fourth of July celebration. The celebration featured a pancake breakfast, flag ceremony and helicopter rides. The Kozaks were participating in the aviation fly-in, where pilots from across the country were encouraged to come and spend the day or night.
Don Dorland folds a flag Saturday morning before it was retired at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265 and the American Legion Post 62 retired about 300 flags at a burning ceremony. Afterward, the flags were given a proper burial.

Jenkins Chan, of Seattle, plays a game of keep-away with Makyah Counts, 8, left, and Lael Conner, 6, on Thursday at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig. Chan was part of a group of 28 riders traveling across America for Journey of Hope, hosted by Push America, which raises money and awareness for people with disabilities.
