Rieser shows his finished fly. When he isn't taking people on fly fishing tours in Mexico, he travels the country and demonstrates fly tying.
Rieser adds an eye to the fly. The fly is meant to mimic a smaller fish that is "fine eatin' by a marlin," Rieser said.
Rieser adds lines to a fly Thursday, which create movement as the fly moves through the water. "Movement is the real key to getting a fish to eat this," Rieser said.
Mike Rieser works on a fly Thursday at his home west of Craig. Rieser, who likes to fish in salt and fresh water, has learned to try many different types of flies, though he said many fly tiers specialize their craft.
