The Craig Puck Ewes women's hockey team swamped the Steamboat Edge, 7-2, on Friday night at the Moffat County Ice Arena. The Ewes had a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period and blew the game open with a 3-0 second period. They finished the win with a 2-1 advantage in the third. Scoring for the Puck Ewes were Jamie Eckroth (3), Shannon Young (2), Annie Abdella and Tammy Strahan. The squad also notched a 45-19 shots on goal advantage against the Edge. The win moved the Puck Ewes to 4-2-1 on the year in the Women's Association of Colorado Hockey.

Students donned pairs of snowshoes and traversed around the park with Sturges, who talked about animal tracks the group found as well as animals that burrow under the snow and eat grass during the winter.

Cobb, who convinced Mathers to create a Facebook page, said she most enjoys catching up with old friends and playing an occasional game on the social networking site. Yampa Valley Partners released its Community Indicators Report today in Moffat County, which gives data for various economic and social trends throughout Northwest Colorado. A key finding in the report is the interdependencies between area communities.
Charles Cody Mack, a Craig resident and <cite>Craig Daily Press</cite> columnist, loved the outdoors and writing his column, which chronicled the area's coal mining history. He died Monday afternoon at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, from complications of bypass surgery.
