Kevin Peck, son of Betsy Peck, accepts the KRAI/Craig Daily Press Citizen of the Year award on behalf of his mother Tuesday night during the 2009 State of the County address at the Holiday Inn of Craig. Members of the award committee said Betsy Peck, who was out of town and unable to attend the event, stood out from about 25 people who were under consideration for the honor.

I would like to sincerely congratulate Betsy Peck on being chosen the KRAI citizen of the year. I have such great memories of her supporting my efforts to start taking a group of students to the D.C. area way back in the early 80's. In fact, her son Kevin came up with the name We See D.C.
