Hayden senior Jake Magee tries to score with a move on Choncey Taylor of Burlington on Thursday, during the first round of the Class 2A wrestling tournament in Denver. Magee won his match and was one of five Hayden wrestlers to advance in the brackets.
Bad Dogs wrestlers Daniel Caddy, front, and Jake Shelton square off Saturday at the Mat Cat Invitational in Fruita. Shelton and Caddy competed against one another for first place in the 6 and under, 55-pound weight class, a match that coach Rodney Klimper said was one of the hardest-fought matches of the day.
Kim Rowe, right, hugs her son Jesse Breslin before his departure Wednesday with the Moffat County High School wrestling team to Denver for the 2009 high school state championships. Breslin joins Charlie Griffiths, Nathan Tomlin and Cody Nelson, who advanced to the season-ending event at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The event kicks off at 7:15 p.m. today and continues Friday and Saturday.
The Craig Association of Realtors awarded Abbey Carpet, 408 E. Victory Way, with its Community Improvement Award at the business Tuesday.
