Aspen resident Bobsy Sacks is among nearly 1,000 volunteers in Colorado and other states who tell stories to school children and other listeners through the Spellbinders program. A training workshop is being held next week for residents interested in volunteering as storytellers in Steamboat Springs during the upcoming school year.
About 400 friends and family attended Carol Jacobson's memorial service Sunday at the Wyman Museum. Jacobson, an active community member, died Wednesday in a rafting accident on the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument.
Terry Carwile, Craig city councilor and Jacobson's husband, spoke during services Sunday at the Wyman Museum. Jacobson's friends and family shared stories about her during the ceremony, which went on for about two hours.
