Stan Schmidt, of Steamboat Springs, tees off Monday at Yampa Valley Golf Course. Snowy conditions caused the course to temporarily close, but clearer weather allowed it to reopen April 9.
Hailie Bomar, 3, is handed a basket Saturday she used in the candy race hosted by the Craig Lions Club at Craig City Park. Children as old as 8 were encouraged to bring their baskets to fill with candy at the annual event.
Callie Papoulas, a sophomore on the Moffat County High School girls golf team, finished a tournament Monday at Cobble Creek in Montrose with a 106 and tied for 16th place. Fellow sophomore Nike Cleverly joined her teammate in the top 20, as did junior Heather Nicholson, who finished in a third-place tie with an 86. Overall, the girls team finished fourth at the event.
