Heather Nicholson, a Moffat County High School sophomore, has earned top finishes at every tournament so far this year. Overall, the MCHS girls golf team has opened this season's play with two top 5 team finishes.
Anastasia Todd, of MCHS, above, competes Thursday in the first half against Battle Mountain. The Bulldogs lost, 5-0, dropping the team's record to 0-7-1. The girls prepare to play their first home game of the season Thursday against Palisade.
Bob Johnson, middle, of State Farm Insurance, 690 W. Victory Way, receives the Community Improvement Award on Tuesday from members of the Craig Association of Realtors. The award is given to businesses and individuals that improve properties in the community.
Moffat County High School junior Curtis Lorio, left, and senior Michael Zehner are two of three MCHS speech and debate team members who will be heading to Birmingham, Ala., for the National Forensics League Tournament. Greg Blackstun is the third. The team has expanded from five students to more than 40 in just five years.
