Craig Middle School running back Michael Samuelson stiff arms a Soroco defender Tuesday on his way to scoring a 76-yard touchdown. Samuelson accounted for all of the Bulldogs offense, scoring three touchdowns on the ground, as well as running for two, 2-point conversions, in CMS's 22-20 home victory.

Colorado Northwestern Community College nursing students Jessie Moon, 21, left, and Dixie Poley, 21, each received $4,500 from the National Western Scholarship Fund. Moon received the scholarship as a first-year nursing student. Poley, a second-year nursing student, was awarded the scholarship for the second time.

Caras presented a flag and a medal bearing his squadron's insignia Friday to CIS students. Caras has just finished his third tour abroad for the U.S. Air Force.

Caras talks to Cheryl Arnett's second-grade class Tuesday morning while his nephew, Tyler Gonzales, 8, holds the flag flown in the class's honor in a mission to Iraq. As first-graders, the class wrote letters to Caras last year while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force in Iraq. On Tuesday, students asked him questions about military life and his experiences abroad.
