Free senior dinners are offered monthly by the Ladies' Auxiliary of VFW Post 4265 at the VFW building, 419 E. Victory Way. The dinners will be canceled for November and December. In the past, the Ladies' Auxiliary and the VFW Steakhouse have used the building's kitchen facilities. Because the restaurant began serving breakfast, however, the kitchen can no longer accommodate both groups, steakhouse manager Penny Nelson said.
Kevin and Treva Millard pick out horses Friday. The horses, gathered in the Sand Wash Basin, are captured to thin the herd to a number the habitat can support.

Natasha White gets a final scare upon exiting the Craig House of Horror on Thursday night during scare hours. The first hour open at the house is no-scare, but at 7 p.m., the actors fill the house, ready to frighten travelers.
Frank Sadvar, secretary/treasurer of Craig Elks Lodge No. 1577, is pictured presenting a check for $400 from the Elks National Foundation to Mel Shockley, commander of American Legion Post No. 62 in Craig. The Craig Elks members donated more than $5 each to the Elks National Fund, and a $400 grant was then awarded to the local Legion Post. The Elks Club's main goal is to help care for U.S. veterans and soldiers, in addition to donating time and money to local youth.
