The MCHS girls cross-country team, in blue, takes off at the sound of the starting gun Saturday in the Region 5 championships in Delta. The girls team placed third, qualifying for the upcoming state championships Saturday in Fort Collins.
MCHS senior Colt Criswell paces himself Saturday during the 4A boys Region 5 championship. Criswell placed 13th overall individually, helping the boys team to four top-25 finishes and 85 team points.
Bulldog senior Alicia Nelson runs alone toward the finish line in the girls 4A regional final. Nelson won her third consecutive individual regional title, completing the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 15.59 seconds.
The MCHS boys cross-country team cheers on the girls team from the finish line at Confluence Park in Delta. The boys team finished second overall Saturday, joining the girls team by qualifying for the state championships.

This week, the House of Horror will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday with 6 to 7 p.m. being no scare hours and 7 to 10 p.m. normal hours. Cost is $5 during no scare hours, and $5 for students and $7 for adults during regular hours.
A helicopter directs wild horses into holding pens Saturday at Sand Wash Basin. The project, sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management, is meant to thin the herd to a size that the local habitat is able to support. Some of the horses caught will be adopted Saturday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.
The helicopter used to corral the horses takes off after rounding up about 12 wild horses. The wrangling came in waves of about 10 to 15 at a time during the course of the day. KG Livestock, of Vernal, Utah, a company the BLM contracted to conduct the gather, captured about 160 wild horses Friday and Saturday.
