Taylor Bruce, of Broomfield, spent Friday morning shopping at F.M. Light & Sons in downtown Steamboat Springs. Businesses in Steamboat Springs reported strong sales to kick off the holiday shopping season.

Moffat County High School launched a program in the spring that gives elective credit to students who score proficient or advanced on Colorado Student Assessment Program tests. During the 2008 CSAP tests, 139 MCHS students earned credit through the program and, combined, they accrued 118.5 elective credits.
A few finished trees sit in the greenhouse, waiting to be purchased. Meckley is keeping eight different types of trees on hand this year, and he offers free delivery and setup in the Craig area.
