Craig residents Joan Bates, left, and her husband, Harold, pose with a photo of them taken while they were in the military. Joan served in the U.S. Army for about 2 and 1/2 years and Harold served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. They met at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico and married in 1968.
