Moffat County High School senior Tyler Kalsow competes in the 200-yard freestyle relay Saturday in the 4A boys swimming state championships. The event in Fort Collins marked the last competitive meet for Kalsow. The team placed fifth.

Erin Urbanoski, a Moffat County High School junior, goes airborne Saturday in the 4A girls long jump finals in Lakewood. Urbanoski entered the state tournament finals in Lakewood as the No. 1 seed and lived up to the high seed by earning her second consecutive state championship.

MCHS junior Myiah Bengston competes Saturday in the 4A girls discus championships at Jeffco Stadium. Bengston placed 15th in the event.
The Haven Community Center is on track to be complete in the fall. The center, which will include exercise and physical therapy space and an Internet cafe, will host wellness and education programs for older adults and other citizens. Hayden residents also will have the opportunity to rent the space for meetings and events.
Craig resident Ben Rinker, 28, spent eight months serving the U.S. Army in Iraq as a wheel vehicle mechanic. While there, he lost a friend and witnessed roadside bomb explosions during convoys. Rinker, a 1998 Moffat County High School graduate, was the keynote speaker during Saturday's Hometown Heroes event at City Park.
Lindsey Browning, a Moffat County High School senior, gives a speech Saturday during the Hometown Heroes community picnic. Browning's speech was on what the "Moving Wall meant to me." The Moving Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans National Monument in Washington, D.C. The Wall visited Craig last summer.
