Gonzales and other CIS students were at the museum as part of the Newspapers in Education program, a partnership between local schools and the Craig Daily Press to help students develop writing skills by teaching them to report about the field trips they take.
Sherie Lewis jumps rope at Craig Intermediate School on Tuesday afternoon. Lewis raised $1,000 for Jump Rope for Heart, a program benefiting the American Heart Association. The school raised $5,600 for the program, setting a record for the school and the district, said Ann Stehlin, CIS physical education teacher.
