Golden resident Jimmy Oleskevich hits his drive on the 10th hole at Yampa Valley Golf Course. Oleskevich and his father, Jim, are in town for the Triple Crown girls fast pitch tournament, but the pair stayed in Craig an extra day to enjoy a few holes of golf on Father’s Day.
Mary Kay Sherman, owner of The Giving Tree, stands inside her shop located at 525 Yampa Ave. Sherman is planning to move to New Mexico next month with her husband, Jonny. Liz and Russ Davis of Hayden are buying the shop, which specializes in gifts and home décor.
Dee Hines uses hand buoys to help build strength during a water fitness class at Old Town Hot Springs. Water exercise provides cardio and strength training that is easy on sensitive joints and injuries.
Forrest Dorman, of Florence, stands with his carving, “Hide and Seek.” In his third year in Whittle the Wood, he won first place in the overall competition and $750.
Faye Braaten, of Loveland, stands with her carving, “Adrenaline Rush.” In her ninth year in Whittle the Wood, she won the People’s Choice Award, Artist’s Choice, and third place ($250) in the overall competition.
