City officials originally planned to turn the parking lot south of the Lincoln Street and Victory Way intersection into a city park last year. Parks and Recreation Department staff expect to complete the project this fall.
The Browns Park School, shown here as it was photographed in 1998, sits on Bureau of Land Management property about 90 miles west of Craig. The Moffat County School District, which formerly owned the building, gave the county $15,000 it had originally earmarked for the school’s demolition. The Browns Park School Alumni Association will use the funds to refurbish the building.
