Craig Sea Shark Gage Rowley competes in the 25-meter freestyle Friday at The Craig City Park pool. The Sea Shark’s ABC meet, which finishes Sunday, is hosting more than 200 swimmers from the Western Slope in the final regular season meet for each team.
Moffat County Bulldog third baseman Halen Raymond slides into first base after being caught in a rundown Thursday against visiting Steamboat Springs in a Legion summer league game. The Bulldogs (14-2 overall, 12-2 league) swept the doubleheader versus the Sailors (6-22 overall, 4-14 league), 11-3 and 10-8. Moffat County came back from a three-run deficit in Game 2 to complete the sweep.
Two finished bales sit after being bundled. Janet Camilletti estimated that 700 tons of alfalfa will be cut on the property this year, producing about 1,000 bales.
There are two types of irrigation systems used at Frosty Acres Ranch to water the alfalfa. In the foreground is a side roll irrigation system, which the family must move every day. In the background is an irrigation pivot, which is automated and takes about 2 1/2 days to cover about 110 acres.

The Northwest Colorado chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America will be rebuilding the corrals in California Park on August 2 and if not done, will finish Aug 3. The public is invited to help.
Members of the Moffat County High School Class of 1978 started their 30th reunion Friday at Cassidy’s. They promised there would be more coming to join them.
