Skaters take a spin on a pond near the Yampa River State Park Visitors' Center building during the Moonlight Ski, Skate and Open House last year. The annual event, scheduled for Saturday, runs from 1 to 9 p.m. and typically draws about 150 people, Park Manager Ron Dellacroce said.
Puck Ewes center Annie Abdella takes a shot on goal Saturday against the Aspen Mutherpuckers. Abdella's ensuing goal pulled the Ewes within two goals, but it wasn't enough. The Ewes lost on the road, 4-2.
Division of Wildlife officers Adrian Archuleta, left, and Mike Swaro look at an elk trapped in a shed belonging to Randy and Terri Reno, who live in the 1400 block of Yampa Avenue. The animal became tangled in a roll of twine while foraging for food. Archuleta and Swaro cut the animal free.
