Sara Schneider, a student teacher currently at Sunset Elementary, is finishing up the last part of her coursework at Chadron State College in preparation for her May graduation. She spent the past six weeks at Sunset working with about 250 students a day. She next will move on to Craig Middle School.
Entries from the Centennial poster contest are on display at Craig City Hall. The number of entries “thrilled” the Centennial Committee, board member Carol Jacobson said. Twenty posters were submitted, and four winners were selected.
Jeremy Vigil reflects on his time spent in Friendship Outreach, a volunteer-run rehabilitative program that works with inmates in Moffat County Jail. Friendship Outreach is helping inmates gradually break free of addiction and crime, program director Neil Folks said.
This month marks the three-year anniversary for Friendship Outreach, an effort to provide spiritual counseling to Moffat County Jail inmates. Neil Folks, a spiritual mentor, conducts sessions with inmates two days a week. He said much of the behavior leading inmates to incarceration stems from past pain and grief.
