Art Durkop, left, and Hilda Schmidt were crowned the annual Valentine’s Day party king and queen Thursday at Sandrock Ridge Care & Rehab. Schmidt will be celebrating her 100th birthday this year.
Linda Brown prepares bouquets Thursday at The Flower Mine for Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is the shop’s busiest day of the year, said Shirley Balleck, the owner of the shop, and she almost doubles her staff, recruiting four more workers, from five, and also has set up five deliverers.

Tractors move snow Thursday at the Wyman Museum in preparation for the annual Vintage Snowmobile Show and X-treme Mountain Racing. The event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
