The aftereffects of an avalanche that buried local resident Mike Zimmerman Sunday in Rio Blanco County still were visible Monday. A weak snow pack, followed by heavier, prolonged snowfall, caused avalanche conditions across the U.S. and southwestern Canada. Eleven people have died this month in avalanches across the western United States.
