Geral Fedinec helps dig out Mike Zimmerman's snowmobile Monday near a slope about six miles south of the Marapos Creek trailhead in Rio Blanco County. On Sunday, Zimmerman was trapped in an avalanche at the site while snowmobiling with his father, Rusty, and Scott Brennise. After calling 911, Rusty and Brennise dug Mike out of the snow and transported him to an ambulance awaiting them at the trailhead.
