Dr. Thomas Told stands near a framed photograph of his mentor, the late Dr. Ray G. Witham, at Craig Medical Center. Told said he continues to be shaped by Witham, particularly in his belief that immortality lies in passing knowledge onto others. Told, who will receive a prestigious state award tonight in Wyoming, intends to follow his mentor's advice by retiring from the Medical Center in December to become the dean of clinical medicine at Rocky Vista Medical School in Parker, where he will tutor young rural physicians.
