Michael Zehner, a junior at Moffat County High School, qualified for the 2008 Desert Lights Nationals speech and debate competition at an event last month. Zehner qualified twice, placing first in extemporaneous speaking and taking the first-place slot in a congressional debate event by default.
Moffat County High School pitcher Seth Lanier deals a strike Saturday against host Palisade. The Bulldogs split the road double-header, winning Game 1, 7-5, then dropping Game 2, 3-2.
