Hayden quarterback Mitch Doolin went 11-17 for 126 yards, 1 touchdown and no interceptions after his offensive line blocked a stout Byers line anchored by 240-pounder Kasey Martin (68). Hayden faces a leaner and faster squad in the No. 1-seeded Akron Rams team it will host Saturday.
