Matthew Barrett is the new deputy district attorney for the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Barrett, who is a May law school graduate from the University of Denver, started Oct. 23 and is assigned to prosecute mostly misdemeanor cases. District Attorney Bonnie Roesink said Barrett was her top choice to replace former Craig office deputy district attorney Ed Veronda, who transferred to the Steamboat Springs office.
