The city’s flowers, like this snapdragon, grow so well because of weekly fertilizer O’Mailia applies, she said. The city’s planters include primarily petunias because they’re so hardy, O’Mailia said.

Angie Roberts will serve as director of Eagle’s Nest Preschool, which opens this fall in Calvary Baptist Church. She said the school will emphasize Christian values through prayer, song and stories.

About 600 Jehovah’s Witnesses converged on Craig’s Kingdom Hall this week to gut and renovate the church. The church, which was builtin 1980, will have new siding, landscaping, carpet and seats by Sunday evening.
A few boats float on the water Friday afternoon at Elkhead Reservoir, which is being dedicated Wednesday. The Craig Kiwanis Club will host a barbecue, and expansion project organizers will speak at the event, which is open to the public.
