Ken Prescott, a disc jockey for KFMU, will serve as master of ceremonies at tonight’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life at Moffat County High School. He will keep the crowd energized during the 18-hour event with music, and will keep himself awake with a strong supply of caffeine.
Construction continues on Craig’s Wal-Mart SuperCenter, located on the west side of town on U.S. Highway 40. New visible additions include driveway paving and light poles. The project, which will include groceries, a bakery, deli, garden center, photo lab and pharmacy, is expected to be complete by mid-September.

Fujita, of Steamboat Springs, is assisting the Craig clinic while the coalition board searches for a new dentist. The clinic serves patients of all ages who are on Medicaid or Children’s Health Plan Plus or who are low-income in Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Grand and Jackson counties.
This small building behind the Craig Conoco service station was damaged by arson early Thursday morning. The building houses $10,000 to $15,000 in ventilation and decontamination equipment for the station’s underground tanks.
