All that was left of a tree that fell Tuesday evening in Marlena O’Leary’s front yard were wood chips, after the tree had been removed Wednesday morning. Wind storms Tuesday knocked down branches, blew trash and even overturned a playground set.

About 200 people attended the first official event to be held at the newly-expanded reservoir since the dam was heightened 25 feet in a two-year, $31 million project.
Tate Severson, 3, of Craig, played with friends Wednesday evening in Elkhead Reservoir during an event to celebrate its completion. Speakers at the event said the project assists with fish recovery efforts while providing a recreational facility for residents and tourists.
