Cory Phillips is interviewed by KRAI/55 Country owner and manager Frank Hanel after Phillips dropped off a donation at Wednesday’s Holiday Drive at the Centennial Mall. Phillips said she made the donation in honor of her mother, JoAnn Quade. The drive started at 6 a.m. Wednesday, and Hanel said the early response at this year’s event has been the best its ever been. “We’ve never had it take like off this,” he said. The drive continues today from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Three-year-old Ember Hayden, left, and her great aunt Trish Stauffer spend time together at Wednesday’s KRAI/55 Country Holiday Drive at the Centennial Mall. The two were there in support of the Pregnancy Center, which is seeking to build its supplies back up after the November fire at the Country Mall destroyed the center’s office. The Pregnancy Center is currently being housed in the auxiliary building of Faith Lutheran Church. Items the Pregnancy Center is seeking include baby food and formula, clothing, baby furniture (excluding car seats), and baby items, such as blankets, sheets, diapers, diaper bags and baby wipes, among others. The Holiday Drive, which seeks donations for a variety of groups, continues from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.
