Randy and Nona Montgomery at their ranch on the Little Snake River near Dixon, Wyo. The couple raised three girls on the ranch, and said the valley is an excellent place for youngsters to grow up.
Nona Montgomery stands by pottery she created on a spinning wheel at the ranch on the Little Snake River. Nona has always been a craftsperson, and also enjoys painting and working with leather.
Montgomery Livestock has been in operation since 1886, when Ike Montgomery came from Northern Ireland and purchased land from homesteaders. The ranch once ran 700 head of cattle and can produce 900 tons of hay each year.
Randy Montgomery is a fourth-generation rancher on the Little Snake River near Dixon, Wyo. Montgomery's great-grandfather, Ike, came to the ranch from Northern Ireland in 1886 and caught wild horses for the U.S. Cavalry before raising cattle on the ranch.
U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard addresses an estimated 40 residents Friday at a town hall meeting at the Craig City Council Chambers. Allard addressed a wide range of topics, from the war in Iraq to the Vermillion Basin.
