Richard Knorr drags the top of a tent over its structure Thursday morning. The tent is to be used as an information booth during the Moving Wall's stay, which lasts until noon Monday.
Building the wall
Panel after panel went up Thursday morning. When it was all said and done, the Moving Wall - a scaled down version of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington D.C., which is in Craig until noon Monday - was in place, listing more than 58,000 names of U.S. armed forces' men and women who were either killed or missing due to the Vietnam War. More than 30 volunteers showed up to put the wall together, ranging from Craig Police Department and the Craig Chamber of Commerce to Craig Rotary and Vietnam veterans. David Barry was one such of the latter volunteers. "It's very moving," he said of the experience of putting the wall together. "I don't know what else to say. : It's hard to believe that we went through something like that."
