Moffat County junior April Sanchez spins to release the discus in the finals of the class 4A regional. Sanchez, who missed volleyball and basketball with a knee injury made it back for track and despite a cumberson brace, finished seventh with a throw of 97 feet, 6 inches.

Derek Duran strides toward the finish in the 800. Despite a personal best and a time that would have won last year's region, Duran finished fourth and out of a chance for state.
Moffat County sophomore Andrew Drake and Glenwood Spring's Dusint Braeger race down the straightaway neck-to-neck in the 800 meter relay. In the photo finish Braeger and the Demons were awarded the regional title by .03 of a second. The Bulldogs' 800 team of Drake, seniors Daniel Tague and Rowan DuBois, and sophomore Sam Weeldreyer was the only state qualifying performance for the boys Saturday.

As expected Moffat County freshman Angie Charchalis finishes ahead of everyone else in the regional 800-meters Friday. Senior Angela Nelson background finished third.
