Robert Sweet

Robert (Bob) Sweet, long-time resident of Craig, passed away Monday, June 2nd at home. He was born June 11, 1942 in Oakland, CA. He studied animal husbandry at Cal Poly before spending several years leading mule and horse pack strings for the Forest Service and working as a wrangler at guest ranches. He married Donna (Van Tassel) in 1973 and moved to Craig in 1978 where he began his 30 year career at the Moffat County Road and Bridge Department. Bob retired in 2008 to enjoy time with family, antler and rock hunting, camping, hunting, 4- wheeling, coin collecting, delivering the local newspaper to his neighbors, and day-dreaming about owning a horse again. He is survived by his wife, Donna Sweet, three children, Flint (Eva) Sweet of Caruthers, CA, Wylie Sweet of Rock Springs, WY and Heather (Nathan) Fross of Craig, CO a granddaughter, Ella and his brother, Doug (Betty Ann) Sweet of Kennett Square, PA. There will be an informal Celebration of Life for Bob on Saturday, July 19th at 7pm at Wyman Museum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Moffat County Cancer Society or the Wyman Museum Summer Nature Camp.
