Marie Nelson Schneider

Marie Nelson Schneider was born Nov. 10, 1917, in Mountain Home, Idaho, the daughter of Frank and Glenn (Pierce) Nelson. Marie was raised and attended school in Craig, graduating from Moffat County High School.
Marie married Charles E. Schneider on May 8, 1937. They became the parents of three children and made their home on their ranch on Morapos Creek until moving into Craig in 1991.
Marie was a member of the Moffat County Cowbelles and the Frontier Society, and she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, embroidery and hand crafts. In her later years, she volunteered at the Museum of Northwest Colorado and the Independent Life Center.
Marie died March 20 at her home. She was 95.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Alice Haughey, of Craig; her son, Phillip Schneider, of Craig; her grandchildren, Cheryl Coclasure, Carol Bonderud, Jan Flanders and Robert Haughey; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Glenn Nelson; her husband, Charles; her son, William; and her two brothers, William and Phillip.
A graveside service took place Monday at the Craig Cemetery with Mervin Johnson officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Haughey, Jim Flanders, Cameron Armstrong, Larry Osborn and Loren Forbes.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, in care of Grant Mortuary.
