Albert David Bridges

Albert David Bridges was born August 25, 1939, in LaJunta, the son of Ralph and Mabel (Powell) Bridges.
He was raised and attended school in LaJunta.
Albert worked on the family farm until joining the US Army in 1962 and served for two years. He married Marie L. Oelze on December 1, 1964, in Montrose.
They made their home in Montrose where Albert worked for his uncle until moving to Greeley where he worked as a foreman at the Monfort Feedlot, and subsequently back to Montrose before moving to Hayden in 1970.
Albert took a job with Colorado-Ute Electric power generating plant, working his way up to the position of shift supervisor.
His passion for camping, hunting, fishing, mushrooming and gardening was contagious.
He was promoted to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Denver Health Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 73.
Albert is survived by his wife Marie, of Hayden; his son Russell David Bridges, of Hayden; his grandchildren Taylor Marie and Isaac David; and his sisters Ellen Moss and husband Tom, of Alamosa, and Martha Lenard and husband Ben, of Grand Junction.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Richard Bridges.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Hayden High School Auditorium with Doug Zirkle officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Albert Bridges Memorial Fund in care of Mountain Valley Bank in Hayden.
