Leota Carrie Day Beason

Leota Carrie Day Beason, age 90, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehab after suffering a stroke the previous Saturday morning.
She moved to Craig CO in 2007 to live with her son and daughter-in-law after the death of her husband in Florida.
Her long life was a loving and strong spirited asset to many people. She touched the hearts and lives of the staff and resident of the Sandrock facility even in her advanced age testifying to her spirit and presence.
Her Christian faith extended to those at the dinner table where eating was always initiated after thankful prayer for the food and prayer other residents of the home.
Her 34 year career in medicine and clinic management was her legacy. An RN up to the end was evident during her last months.
As told by the Sandrock nurses and assistants, she was teaching the staff how to make herself and other patients comfortable with pillows and bed covers for a good night’s sleep.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; two brothers, Ed and Bennett; three sisters, Faye, Irene and Ruth; her mother, Victoria; and her father, Fred Day.
Remaining are two sons, Larry and Richard, and two daughter-in-laws, Margreet and Donna; two grandsons, Edward and Mathew; one granddaughter, Lindsay; one great grandson, Leigh Michael; a sister, Virginia and brother-in-law, Estel; two sister-in-laws, Barbara and Arlene; a church family; and numerous friends.
The family encourages all to remember her faith in her Savior Jesus, her intelligence and strength, while keeping her life as a model for personal endurance, by giving to others, and, by loving graciously.
By Leota’s request, neither a memorial nor other items are to be provided. She will be buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, N.C., in the family plot next to her husband.
The local family will be available during all future Sunday School and Worship Services at Calvary Baptist Church in Craig for expressions of sympathy.
