Larry Lee Kunkle, Sr.

Larry Lee Kunkle Sr. was born April 5, 1946, in Slatington, Penn., the daughter of Paul and Mary (Valora) Kunkle. He was raised and attended school in Slatington.
Larry married Eileen T. Bower in Slatington on Aug. 21, 1971. To this union three sons were born. They moved to Leadville and then to Craig, where Larry worked for Colowyo Coal Co. as a coal miner until his retirement.
Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing.
He died July 17, 2012, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland after a lengthy illness. He was 66.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen, of Craig; three sons, Larry (Virginia) Kunkle and James (Hillary) Kunkle of Craig and Leonard Kunkle of Grand Junction; grandchildren Matt (Jayme) Hubbard and their daughter Kylie, and Brent, Desirae, Laura and Logan. He also is survived by three brothers and two sisters as well as his extended children and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were held July 25, 2012, at Grant Mortuary in Craig with Linda Taylor officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Rock Mountain Elk Foundation in care of Grant Mortuary.
