Timothy Eugene Portenier

Timothy Eugene Portenier died in his home Monday, July 9, 2012. He was 57.
Tim was born in Seattle and spent most of his childhood in Sidney, Neb., surrounded by a large family of five brothers and three sisters.
It was in Sidney where he met the love of his life, high school sweetheart Frances Joy Main.
After graduation in 1973, Tim and Joy married April 27, 1974.
Soon they welcomed their first son, Timothy, Jr. Three years later, son Travis arrived.
The family decided to make the move to Craig, where Tim accepted a position as operator at Trapper Mine, where he would work for the next 35 years. The third son, Tyler, joined the family in 1981.
Tim loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, skiing, playing guitar and camping. Above all he was most passionate about his family. He loved being a grandfather and taking his two grandsons, Kamron and Zachariah, on adventures. The most recent was in June to Disneyland.
Tim is survived by parents Ron and Virginia Portenier, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; mother-in-law Jean Main, of Las Vegas; wife Joy Portenier, of Craig; son Timothy (Kim) Portenier, Jr., and grandson Zachariah, of Olathe; son Travis (Heather) Portenier and grandson Kamron, of Grand Junction; son Tyler (Tiffani) Portenier, of Craig; siblings Jay (Rhonda) Portenier, of Sidney, Neb., Kathy (Don) Hickox, of Gering, Neb., J.R. Portenier, of Peetz, Mark (Jennifer) Portenier, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Rhonda (Brett) Nadeau, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Dirk Portenier, of Cheyenne Wyo., and Linda (Dan) House, of Hillsdale, Wyo.; brother in-law Rory (Debbie) Main, of Montrose; Mike (Jeri) Main, of Olathe; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Portenier, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and father in-law Bob Main, of Craig.
A memorial service will take place at 2:30 p.m. today, Friday, July 13, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church in Craig.
