Roy Kent Holt

Roy Kent Holt was born Feb. 9, 1948, in Provo, Utah, the son of Ray Cook and Verna (Marrott) Holt. He was raised and attended school in Provo. Following high school, Roy went to trade school and became a journeyman plumber. He also served in the U.S. Navy Roy lived in the Provo area until moving to Rock Springs, Wyo., where he worked at the Bridger Power Plant and later for Questar Gas. While in Rock Springs, Roy met Sandra Miller and they were married July 4, 1981, in Wells, Nev. They made their home in Rock Springs until moving to Baggs, Wyo., in 1990. Roy worked for Questar Gas in Baggs, and later ran his own business, R & S Plumbing and Heating. Roy enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish, camp and pick rocks. He served eight years on the Baggs City Council and thru his business supported many activities in the Snake River Valley. He died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. He was 64. Roy is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Baggs, Wyo.; sons Roy Todd Holt, of Tuscon, Ariz., Ambrose (Codie) Floate, of Gillette, Wyo., and David (Nicole) Halstead, of Rock Springs, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters Kathy Biesinger, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Joi (Duane) McKenzie, of Springville, Utah, Mary (Ted) Allen, of Layton, Utah, and Judy (Ron) Fyer, of Kennewick, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Roy's life will take place at a later date.
