Charles Chuck Schmidt

Charles (Chuck) Schmidt died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, in Bremerton, Wash., with his family by his side. He was born June 5, 1939.
Chuck was born in Grand Junction to Leonard and Ruth (VanHorn) Schmidt. He attended Boulder High School in Boulder, and graduated in 1957.
He was in the Navy until 1961.
He married Lorelie A. E. (Miller) Schmidt on Dec. 25, 1960, in Boulder.
Chuck worked as a supervisor for the federal government up to his retirement. He loved traveling, camping, and spending time with his family.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Lorelie, and parents Leonard and Ruth.
He is survived by daughters Lisa Ringsby and husband Steve, of Brunswick, Ohio, and Leslie Gentry, of Kent, Wash.; sons Robin Schmidt and wife Melanie, of Silverdale, Wash., and Chris Schmidt and wife Christine, of Weslaco, Texas; brother Donald Schmidt and wife Johnee, of Poulsbo, Wash.; sister Judy Biegert, of Langley, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Lewis Chapel in Bremerton, Wash.
