Mary J. Williams

Mary Williams, a long-time Hayden resident, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011.
She leaves behind her husband, Everett (Dutch) Williams, and all six of her children: Carolyn Gregory, of Grand Junction, Anne Williams, of Pueblo West, Cathy (Bo) Ayers, of Egnar, Mike (Amy J.) and Matt (Amy D.) Williams, of Hayden, and Joel Williams, of Harker Heights, Texas.
She has 15 grandchildren: Curtis Gregory, of Hayden, Sabrina (Ryan) Bussard and Chantal Gregory, of Grand Junction, Tristan and Hailee Williams, of Pueblo West, Jacob Ayers, of Farmington, N.M., Caleb and Caitlyn Ayers, of Egnar, Jordan, Ben, Nick, Savannah, and Koleman Williams, of Hayden, and Nathan and Whitney Williams, of Longmont; and great-granddaughter Jayde Bussard, of Grand Junction.
Mary also leaves her sister, Joanne (Robert) Hansen, of Chicago, Ill.
Mary was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Royal Oak, Mich., to Charles and Lillian Curtis.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1952.
Mary taught middle school in Michigan before moving to Hayden and teaching English at Hayden Union High School.
On June 1, 1957, she married Dutch.
Mary became a stay-at-home mom. She loved to cook, garden, travel, and read. Mary was active in the Hayden Congregational Church and Women's Fellowship for many years. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in various activities.
Mary was known as a joyful person with a genuine heart and a kind disposition.
Her generous approach to daily life has brightened the lives of many. She will be greatly missed.
A service was Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Central Baptist Church in Hayden.
Memorial donations may be sent to First National Bank of the Rockies, P.O. Box 700, Hayden, CO 81639, to benefit Totally Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization Mary was both instrumental in founding and an original member of the board.
