Chad McKay Running, 35, of Craig, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Flaming Gorge, Utah, while on a family camping/boating trip.
Chad was born Aug. 12, 1976, in Watford City, N.D. He graduated from Moffat County High School in 1994.
Chad married his wife, Lynnette (Kroese) Running, of 15 years, on Aug. 17, 1996.
Chad's employment history included working for his parents' business, D&R Roustabout, and as a reserve deputy for the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department and Idaho Fish & Game.
In 1999, Chad and Lynnette started their own business, Northwest Weed Management, Inc., where Chad proudly served his customers in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.
In 2001, Chad and Lynnette welcomed their daughter, Caitlin Marie, and in 2003 welcomed their son, Daniel James. Chad loved and cherished his family and was an extraordinary father.
He also loved hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, kneeboarding, skiing, camping, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family.
He was a friend and mentor to many and enriched all who knew him with his sense of humor and endless ability to lend a hand when help was needed.
He was lovingly referred to as "Chaddy Boy" or "Jug Head." He will be missed but never forgotten by those who knew and loved him.
Chad is survived by his wife, Lynnette, and daughter Caitlin and son Daniel, of Craig; parents Randy and Debbie Running, of Beulah, N.D.; sister Stacy (Matt) Sis, of Craig; grandmother Alice Kessler, of Beulah, N.D.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Patty Kroese, of Craig; brother-in-law Donnie (Cori) Kroese, III, of Craig; and sisters-in-law Shelly (Justin) Duzik, of Craig, and Kelly (Brad) Peed, of Craig. He also has numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Chad is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillian and Louis Kummer; grandfather Oliver Running; brother-in-law Dan Ovenden; and nephew Lucas Duzik.
