Gisela Kloos, of Santa Fe, N.M., 87, died in the Lord, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011.
She was born on April 21, 1924, in Offenbach am Main, Germany, the only child of Karl and Friedal (Klump) Wallschmitt.
She attended college at Univer-
sity of Darmstadt during WWII.
She married Carl Kloos, of Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1949, in Heidelberg, Germany, before moving to the USA, where she became a citizen of the United States in 1953. The Kloos family made their home in Craig, where Dr. Kloos practiced chiropractic medicine. Their marriage was blessed with two children.
Following retirement in 1988, Carl and Gisela moved to Santa Fe, N.M. Dr. Kloos died in 2001. Both were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Santa Fe.
Gisela enjoyed travel and gathering together with family and friends. She and her husband were long-time members of the Santa Fe/Los Alamos German Club. She enjoyed photography and appreciated fine art.
Survivors include her children, Randy Kloos and wife, Sandy, of Craig, and Vivian (Casey) Shults and husband, Tom, of Santa Clara, Calif.; one grandson, Jared Kloos, of Denver; three granddaughters, Stephanie (Kloos) Murr and husband, Rick, of Craig, and Sheila Casey and Shannon Casey, of Santa Clara.
Preceding her in death were her parents and beloved husband, Dr. Carl Kloos, and son-in-law, Dan Casey.
A visitation was held at Beradinelli Family Funeral Service on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service was Sunday, Sept. 4 at 4 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church officiated by the Rev. Douglas K. Escue, pastor.
A reception followed. A private committal service will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, September 5.
