Ann Brennise was born on April 14, 1918, in Wilton, N.D., to Matt and Mary (Ewine) Sawicki.
Ann was raised and attended schools in Wilton, where she graduated from High School.
She worked at various jobs in Wilton until she married Ray Brennise in 1940 and they became the parent's two children: Loyle, who was born in Wilton, and Mary Ann, who was born on Fort Stockton, Texas.
They made their home in various locales including the Dakotas, Washington, Mississippi, Texas, Wyoming and Utah, where Ray worked in the oil fields.
In 1961, they moved to Craig where Ray bought a Conoco Station.
Ann enjoyed being a home maker and caring for her family and her yard. She was famous for her bread making and her Sunday chicken dinners.
She was a long time member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Ann was able to love independently for all but last six months of her life.
In those later months she lived with her daughter Mary Ann until ill health made it necessary to move to the Haven in Hayden and the last few weeks at Larchwood.
Ann died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at the Larchwood Inn Rest Home in Grand Junction. She was 94.
She is survived by son Loyle (Kathy) Brennise, of Gunnison; daughter Mary Ann (Alman) Nicodemus, of Craig; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray and one grandchild.
Memorial graveside services were Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Craig Cemetery with Al Cashion officiating.
