Mary L. Rickerby, of Cedaredge and formerly of Craig and Hayden, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Hayden, to Lonnie “Hap” and Katherine (Robidoux) Weaver.
She attended school at Hayden Union High, graduating in 1954.
She married Dean Rickerby on Sept. 18, 1955. Two daughters were born to this union.
Mary was an active Girl Scout and 4-H leader. She loved being a housewife and mother.
She liked to garden. She was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and DOE’s, holding several offices and attending several conventions.
Mary and Dean moved to Cedaredge in 2002 to be in warmer weather.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother Charles.
She is survived by her husband, Dean, of Cedaredge; daughters Cathy (Michael) Gush, of Craig, and Betty (Leo) Davis, of Satanta, Kan.; grandsons Josh Nicoletto, of Newberg, Ore., Matthew Davis, of Satanta, Kan., and Kris Davis, of Manhattan, Kan.; granddaughter Melissa (Justin) Forbes, of Hamilton; step-grandchildren Mike (Lori) Gush, of Newberg, Ore., and Stephania Gush, of Newcastle; great-grandchildren Alana and Isabella Nicoletto, Trevor and Felicity Forbes, Cameron and Ian Gush; sister Helen (Larry) Slate; aunt Louise Long; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial will take place in the summer.
