Harriette Helen Decker was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Pisgah, Iowa, to Jack and Edna Hickman. She died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig.
She spent her early years growing up in Iowa, Wyoming and Colorado.
Harriette Helen Hickman was wedded to her love, Lane H. Decker, on April 15, 1949,
To that union, they bore seven children: Angela (Ken) Tucker, of Green River, Wyo.; Teresa Johnson, of Girardeau, Mo.; Judy (Richard) Rogers, of Coos Bay, Ore; Casey Decker, of Moab, Utah; Donna (Keith) Carter, of Craig; Audrey Bergeson, of Encampment, Wyo., and Steven Decker, of Evanston, Wyo. They also had 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Harriette loved her family and spent years raising her children.
She was admired for her talent in various hobbies such as crocheting, bingo, cards, puzzles, baking and making candy. Sewing was also a favorite.
She also loved to camp, fish, plant and care for floral gardens, and bowl.
She was a waitress and cook for years at Scrap Iron Café and bar.
Later years were put in working night security at Sunset Meadows I.
Those preceding her in death were her husband, parents, two sisters, three grandchildren and numerous other family members.
A memorial service was Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Grant Mortuary Chapel with Traber Cass officiating.
Guitarist Bob LaFord sang “Old Rugged Cross” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”
Memorial donations may be made to the Belle Bonfils Blood Center or The Memorial Hospital, in care of Grant Mortuary.
